Basically, the stronger the muscles in your body (including your heart!), the better able you are to do things like hiking, kayaking, rock climbing. My family just decided to spend a week in Breckenridge, CO for our summer vacation this August, and that has inspired me to get back in shape. I want to peak another 14,000 foot mountain, which means I really do need to be in good shape. Thus the exercise routine I plan to follow: 2 days cardio and 3 days weight lifting. Stronger leg muscles + better endurance = easier time laboring up a peak in thin, oxygen-poor air.
So that is my goal! I have just under four months to get myself in good physical condition for hiking, which I think is totally doable. And now that you understand my reasoning, on to my version of inspirational photos!

Those are some way gorgeous photos. That is such a killer motivator, to have a real and specific goal to work towards is something I lack. I need to find one for myself.
ReplyDeleteMountain climbing seems so far from something I could do right now.
I am just loving where is at today. I am loving all the positivity and all the motivation.
ReplyDeleteMainda Pants, yeah. Somehow "looking hot" is not enough of a motivation for me. If it is for you, then by all means use it!
ReplyDeleteDolly, me too! :)
Yeah, that's pretty much it for me. Ha. I'm pretty satisfied and happy in all other areas in my life, I'd just like to look prettier.
